Create the report

1. Open Reporting

On the home page, click Reporting. You can also click the Reports card on the Moves dashboard.

2. Click Create new report

The Create new report form opens.

3. Fill in the form

  • Name: required.
  • Data Source: see the table above.
  • Type: List gives one row per record. Time gives totals or counts over time.
  • Description: optional.
  • Folder: only shown if your organisation uses report folders.
  • Global report: Global reports are visible to every admin with access to Reporting. Private reports are visible only to you, and cannot be scheduled.
Create report

4. Click Create

The report's edit page opens.

Choose what the report shows

5. Filter the rows

In Query builder, add rules to filter the data, for example a date range. Click Save query.

6. Choose the columns

For a List report:

  • In Fields selector, tick the columns you want, then click Save fields.
  • Optional: in Grouping, group rows by a field, then click Save grouping.

For a Time report, choose the Date Column, Report per, Aggregation Column, Aggregation Type (SUM or COUNT) and, optionally, a Group Column. Then click Update.

7. Check the result

Click Preview to see a sample. To change column headings, click Rename columns.

Your report is saved. It uses these settings each time you open, download or schedule it.

Note: Save query updates this report. It does not save a copy. To keep the original, create a second report.

Activity older than 32 days: use Moves Daily User Activity Historical. A Moves Daily User Activity report that reaches further back shows an error.
