Your organisation's rates
Your organisation sets how many points each activity earns. To see your rates, tap the i icon at the top of Home, then How your points are calculated. The same table is on Profile and My Tracker.
By default, the rates are:
| Activity | Measured by | Default rate |
|---|---|---|
| Walking | Steps | 100 steps = 1 point |
| Running | Distance | 1 mile = 45 points |
| Cycling | Distance | 1 mile = 15 points |
| Swimming | Distance | 100 metres = 20 points |
Your organisation may set different values, and may measure running and cycling in kilometres. A new rate applies to activity after the change. Past points are not recalculated.
What earns points
| Counts | Does not count |
|---|---|
| Steps, all day | Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, gym classes, weights and other sports |
| Runs with a distance, including trail runs and treadmill runs | Runs, rides or swims with no distance recorded |
| Rides with a distance, including indoor bikes that record one | Activity before the day you joined Moves+ |
| Swims with a distance | Activity above your daily cap |
Rules that affect your total
- Steps are counted once. Steps taken during a recorded run are paid as part of the run, not again as walking.
- Duplicate workouts count once. If two apps record the same workout, Moves+ keeps one.
- Points are rounded. Each activity is rounded to the nearest whole point.
- Moves+ uses what Apple Health or Health Connect records. If your watch app shows a different total, compare it with Apple Health or Health Connect.
These rules are why your points can be lower than your watch suggests.
Daily cap
- There is no daily cap unless your organisation sets one.
- The cap covers all activity in one day, in your organisation's time zone.
- When you reach it, you see a "Congratulations" message and a "Points Milestone" notification. Activity after that earns no points until the next day.
- Challenge prizes, invite rewards and points added by your organisation do not count towards the cap.
Expiry and resets
- Points do not expire.
- Your organisation can reset everyone's points, for example at the end of a year. Your Points available go to 0. Your Lifetime points and activity history stay.
- Partner points are separate and are not affected by a reset.
Check your organisation's terms for its rules on resets.
