How to create a Promo Code

Summary

FLOW allows you to create promo codes for membership discounts. Promo codes can offer:

• Fixed Amount Discounts (e.g., £10 off).
• Percentage Discounts (e.g., 10% off the basket price, either pro-rata or fixed term).

Key Features and Restrictions:

• Promo codes apply only to memberships.
• By default, a promo code applies to all memberships unless specified otherwise.
• Promo codes must be alphanumeric and cannot include special characters or spaces.
• Promo codes with the same name cannot overlap on the same dates. For example, if 'DISCOUNT10' is active from July 1st to July 31st, you cannot create another 'DISCOUNT10' for the same period.
• Promo codes cannot be edited or deleted once created. However, they can be unpublished if needed.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Promotions Module

1. From the Home Page, navigate to the Promotions module.
   
   
   
   
2. Select Membership Promotions.
   
   

2. Create a New Promo Code

1. Click on ‘Create a New Promo Code.’
   
   
   
   

2. Complete the required fields:
   
   

   • Promo Code Name: Enter an alphanumeric code (e.g., SUMMER10).
   • Internal Reference: Optional field for internal tracking.
   • Payment Types: Select either Recurring or Fixed payment types.
     • Note: You cannot select both payment types for the same promo code. If needed, create separate promo codes for each type.
   • Discount Settings:
     • Choose either a fixed amount or a percentage discount.
   • Valid From/End Dates: Specify the promo code’s active period.

3. Membership-Specific Discounts (Optional):

   • By default, the promo code applies to all memberships.
   • To restrict it to specific memberships:
     • Uncheck ‘This discount code will be valid against all memberships.’
     • Search for the desired membership(s) and click ‘+ Add.’
       
       
       
       

4. Click ‘Save Code’ to complete the setup.

Using Promo Codes

1. Discount for All Memberships

• The promo code will apply automatically to all eligible memberships unless configured otherwise.
  
  

2. Discount for Specific Memberships

• If restricted to specific memberships, the promo code will only apply to the selected options.
  
  

Important Notes:

• Once a promo code is created, it cannot be edited or deleted.
• If a promo code is no longer needed, you can unpublish it to disable its use.
