System configuration: an overview

What the System configuration area covers, and when you would change each part.

User role: Administrator

Module: Moves+ admin > Moves Dashboard > System configuration

What System configuration is

System configuration holds the settings that shape Moves+ for your whole organisation: who can join, how the app looks, and how activity turns into points. You set most of it up once before launch, then change it only now and then.

On the Moves Dashboard, the System configuration card links to Points, Activity records, Settings and, if you use it, User Import. Points Conversion, Settings and Reset Points are also in the sidebar.

Changes here affect every member. Every administrator with access to Moves can make them.

What each part is for

Part What it controls When you would change it
Settings Organisation-wide values, such as your contact email, terms and the inactive user threshold Before launch, and when a detail changes
Sign-up and joining Whether your organisation appears in the app, who can register, allowed email domains and the reference members enter Before launch, or when your domains or the people you serve change
Branding Logos, colours, title font and Explore tab images in the app Before launch, or after a rebrand
Points conversion and daily caps How many points each activity earns, and the most activity points a member can earn in a day Before launch, or if points are building up faster or slower than your rewards allow
Reset Points Sets every member's spendable points to zero. It cannot be undone At the end of a period, such as an academic year, after telling members
Activity records Each activity Moves+ has received, and the points it earned When a member questions their points, or you are checking for unusual activity
Single sign-on Whether members and staff sign in with your organisation account. OpenPlay sets it up with you When you plan to move to, or away from, organisation sign-in
