One tracker at a time
Moves+ connects to one tracker at a time. To change tracker, you disconnect the current one first, then connect the new one. This includes an old tracker that still shows in My Tracker but no longer syncs.
When you disconnect
Moves+ stops reading new activity. Everything you have already earned stays on your account: your points, badges, history and leaderboard position.
On Android, disconnecting also removes Moves+'s access in Health Connect. You allow it again when you reconnect.
When you connect or reconnect
Moves+ reads up to the last 30 days of activity from Apple Health or Health Connect. Points count from the day you joined Moves+, including that day. They do not depend on when you connected your tracker.
This means:
- Activity from earlier on the day you connect still counts.
- If you disconnect and reconnect, activity from the last 30 days is picked up, as long as it is in Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Activity older than 30 days is not picked up.
Which trackers you can reconnect
| Tracker | Can you reconnect it? |
|---|---|
| Apple Health | Yes, at any time |
| Health Connect | Yes, at any time |
| Garmin | No. Once disconnected, the app does not offer Garmin again |
| Fitbit, Withings, Strava, Google Fit | No. These no longer sync |
On Garmin? Keep it connected unless you are moving to Apple Health or Health Connect. If you disconnected it by mistake, connect Apple Health or Health Connect instead, and check whether Garmin's own app can share data with it.
Disconnecting is rarely a fix
If your activity is not arriving, disconnecting usually does not help. Check your permissions in Apple Health or Health Connect, then pull down on Home to sync. See Why are my steps or points missing?
