How to connect Apple Health to Moves+ on your iPhone, so your activity earns points.
Time required: 2 minutes
User role: App member
Applies to: iPhone
Module: Moves+ app > Profile > Edit Profile > My Tracker
Before you start
- Update Moves+ to the latest version from the App Store, and sign in.
- If you use a wearable or a workout app, set it to share its activity with Apple Health in its own app.
- You can connect one tracker at a time. If another tracker is shown in My Tracker, disconnect it first. See What happens if I disconnect or change my tracker?
Steps
1. Open Profile
Tap the Profile tab in the bottom right corner.
2. Tap Edit Profile
3. Connect Apple Health
Go to My Tracker and tap Connect next to Apple Health. If a message about connecting a tracker appears, tap Got it.
4. Allow access in Apple Health
Apple Health asks which data Moves+ can read. Turn on all the categories, including Steps, Distance and Workouts, then tap Allow.
Turn everything on: Apple does not tell Moves+ which categories you have turned off. Activity in a category that is off earns no points, and you will not see an error.
5. Tap Continue
When Moves+ confirms your tracker is connected, tap Continue. Moves+ starts syncing and shows Sync In Progress on Home.
Result
Apple Health is connected. Moves+ reads up to the last 30 days of your activity, and points count from the day you joined Moves+.
After that, Moves+ syncs each time you open the app or pull down on Home. Moves+ only reads your activity. It does not write anything to Apple Health or read your medical records.
To change what Moves+ can read later, open the Health app and tap Sharing, then Apps, then Moves+.
