What has happened to Fitbit, Garmin, Withings, Strava and Google Fit in Moves+, and how to move to Apple Health or Health Connect.
User role: App member
Applies to: All
Module: Moves+ app > Profile > Edit Profile > My Tracker
What has changed
Moves+ now reads your activity from your phone's own health app: Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android. Older direct connections to fitness brands have stopped or are limited.
| Tracker | What happens now |
|---|---|
| Garmin | Still syncs if you already have it connected. If you disconnect it, you cannot add it again. New members cannot connect it. |
| Fitbit | Stopped syncing on 14 September 2026. You cannot connect it. |
| Withings | Stopped syncing on 14 September 2026. You cannot connect it. |
| Strava | No longer supported. You cannot connect it. |
| Google Fit | No longer supported. You cannot connect it. |
What you keep
Everything you have already earned stays on your account: your points, badges, activity history and leaderboard position. Only new activity from the old tracker has stopped.
If you use Garmin
You do not need to do anything. Your Garmin keeps syncing while it stays connected.
Do not disconnect Garmin unless you are moving to Apple Health or Health Connect. Once it is disconnected, you cannot add it again.
What to do if your tracker has stopped
- Check whether your device's own app can share data with Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). If it can, turn that on in the device's app. If not, your phone's own fitness app can usually still count your steps.
- In Moves+, go to Profile > Edit Profile > My Tracker. If your old tracker is still shown, tap Disconnect next to it, then Yes, disconnect. You can only connect one tracker at a time.
- Connect Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android.
When you connect, Moves+ reads up to the last 30 days of activity held in Apple Health or Health Connect. Older activity is not picked up. If you think you have missed points, contact your organisation, which makes any points adjustments.
