Leaderboard and newsfeed

How the leaderboard ranks you against your friends, and what the newsfeed shows.

User role: App member

Module: Moves+ app > Explore

Leaderboard

The leaderboard compares you with your Moves+ friends. Open it from Explore > Leaderboards.

  • What it counts: points you earned in the current calendar month, including challenge bonuses. Spending points on rewards does not lower your position.
  • When it resets: a new leaderboard starts on the 1st of each month. Use the arrows to look back at the previous two months.
  • What you see: if you are in the top 10, you see the whole list. Otherwise you see the top 3, then your position with the people just above and below you. Tap Show full list to see everyone.
  • How often it updates: several times a day, not live. New points can take a few hours to show.

To appear on the leaderboard you need at least one Moves+ friend, and your activity must be visible to others. See How do I invite a friend to Moves+?

Newsfeed

The newsfeed sits on the Explore tab, below the tiles. It shows what you and your friends have done, newest first. A post appears when someone:

  • joins a group
  • joins a challenge
  • completes a challenge
  • earns a badge
  • redeems a reward

Keeping your activity private

Both features depend on the setting Allow others to see my activity. in Profile > Edit Profile > My Details. If you turn it off:

  • you do not appear on your friends' leaderboards
  • no new newsfeed posts are created about you, and friends do not see your activity
  • you cannot use the leaderboard yourself until you turn it back on

See How do I change my profile and privacy settings?
