How to set up Partner Points

Run a campaign with its own points balance, so points earned in the campaign are spent on the campaign's rewards.

Time required: 15 minutes, plus time to build the challenges and rewards

User role: Administrator

Module: Moves+ admin > Partner Categories

A partner category adds a second points balance next to Moves+ points. Use it for a sponsored campaign, or for your own named campaign. You can run more than one at a time.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • The campaign name, as members should see it.
  • Two brand colours.
  • An icon image hosted at a public web address. You cannot upload it from your computer.
  • A short description. It can link to your terms.
  • The rewards members can spend the points on.

Know how the balance works:

  • Partner points are a separate balance from Moves+ points. Members cannot move points between them.
  • A partner reward can only be bought with that partner's points.
  • Partner points never expire.
  • Reset Points resets Moves+ points only. It does not change partner balances.

Set up the campaign

1. Create the partner category

  1. In the sidebar, select Partner Categories, then Create category.
  2. Enter the Name. It must be different from your other categories.
  3. Pick the Primary colour and Secondary colour.
  4. Enter the Icon URL.
  5. Write the Description, up to 5,000 characters. Members see it as the "About" section. You can add links in Markdown, for example [Terms](https://example.com/terms).
  6. Add a Learn more URL if you have a campaign page. It shows as a "Learn more" link below the description.
  7. Under Visibility, leave Visible to users unticked until launch.
  8. Choose Show sponsored labelling. Ticked (the default), the campaign's challenges and rewards say "Sponsored by" the category name. Untick it for your own campaigns, so only the category name shows.
  9. Check the Preview, then select Save.

2. Create the campaign rewards

  1. Create a reward as normal. See How to create a reward.
  2. Set Points type to your category. Cost (In Points) is now in partner points.

Build the rewards before the challenges go live, so members have something to spend their points on.

3. Create the campaign challenges

  1. Create a global challenge as normal. See How to create a challenge.
  2. In Challenge details, set Points type to your category. The Prize amount (points) is then paid in partner points.

Each challenge pays one balance only. Group challenges always pay Moves+ points.

4. Launch the campaign

  1. Edit the category and tick Visible to users, then select Save changes. You can also tick categories in the list and select Show selected.
  2. Make sure the campaign rewards are ticked Enabled and the challenges have a Publish date that has been reached.

Visibility is set in two places: Visible to users controls the category and its balance in the app. Points can still be paid into a hidden category. Each challenge's Publish date and each reward's Enabled setting control when members see them.

Result

Where in the app What members see
Home "Your Points" shows Moves+ points and the campaign balance side by side.
Rewards The same balances. Campaign rewards show the cost in campaign points, for example "500 [name] points".
Profile An extra tile with the campaign balance.
Campaign challenges and rewards "Sponsored by [name]" and a "Sponsored" label if Show sponsored labelling is on. Otherwise the category name only.

End the campaign

  1. Let the campaign challenges and rewards reach their end dates. To stop a reward sooner, untick Enabled.
  2. Edit the category and untick Visible to users, or tick it in the list and select Hide selected.

Hiding does not delete balances. If you show the category again, members' balances return as they were. You can only delete a category while its Points column is 0.
