Which trackers and wearables you can connect to Moves+, what each one can track, and where the retiring trackers stand.
Time required: 5 minutes
User role: App user
Applies to: iPhone and Android
Module: Moves+ app > Profile > Tracker
Overview
Moves+ takes the activity data from your tracker or wearable and converts it into Moves+ points. There are two options, depending on your phone:
| Connect this | If you have |
|---|---|
| Apple Health | An iPhone |
| Health Connect | An Android phone |
You do not have to give up your existing wearable. Most watches, rings and fitness apps can send their activity into Apple Health or Health Connect, and Moves+ picks it up from there. That includes Samsung Health, Google Fit, Garmin Connect, Fitbit's app and many others.
What each option can track
| Tracker | Steps | Running | Cycling | Swimming |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Health (phone only) | ☑️ | |||
| Apple Health (with a wearable) | ☑️ | ☑️ | ☑️ | ☑️ |
| Health Connect (Android) | ☑️ | ☑️ | ☑️ | ☑️* |
This table is a guide only. What your wearable can actually track varies by model.
* Swimming requires a waterproof phone or wearable.
What about Fitbit, Garmin, Withings and Google Fit?
These used to connect to Moves+ directly. They are no longer available to connect, and are being retired during 2026.
| Tracker | Status |
|---|---|
| Fitbit | Existing connections only. Cannot be reconnected once disconnected |
| Garmin | Existing connections only. Cannot be reconnected once disconnected |
| Withings | Existing connections only. Cannot be reconnected once disconnected |
| Google Fit | Existing connections only. Google has retired Google Fit; see how to move to Health Connect |
| Strava | Discontinued June 2025 |
If you already have one of these connected, it keeps working for now.
You do not need to do anything yet. During 2026 you will be moved across to Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android. This will be a guided process inside the app, and we will notify you before it happens.
Your activity history, points and leaderboard position are not affected. Only the collection of new activity from those trackers stops.
If you disconnect one of them, you cannot reconnect it. See What happens when I connect and disconnect my tracker?
Troubleshooting
Can I connect Samsung Health directly?
No. Samsung Health has never connected to Moves+ directly, and it is not one of the two available options. On Android it feeds your activity into Health Connect, and Moves+ reads it from there. See Can I connect Samsung Health to Moves+?
How many trackers can I connect at a time?
One. On iPhone, connect Apple Health and let your wearable feed into it. On Android, connect your wearable or app to Health Connect, then connect Health Connect to Moves+.
Can I connect the same wearable through two routes?
Avoid it. A wearable reporting into both Apple Health and its own app can cause activity discrepancies we cannot support.
