Key Defect:
Singular client reported billing issue investigated and related to memberships with dependents:
- The issue was triggered when a frozen dependent membership was unfrozen. While the reconciliation fee appears in June’s billing collection, it disappears from future billing.
- Root cause: A membership fee price increase import was run twice. The first import failed midway but partially updated some memberships. The second attempt reprocessed them, leading to duplicate updates.
- This duplication only affected those where a fee timeline change occurred later (e.g., freeze created or cancelled).
- When those changes were made, the Fee Timeline Adjuster incorrectly cancelled the main fee, resulting in memberships without an ongoing fee or end date.
