Booking fast tickets for several people with membership discounts

Summary

When a customer books more than one fast ticket, they can apply each person's membership discount to that person's ticket, so everyone pays the price their own membership entitles them to.

✅ Apply a discount to each ticket individually, for the person that ticket is for.

✅ Choose people from your linked accounts, without typing their Customer ID.

✅ Enter a Customer ID for anyone who is not linked to your account.

Before you start

Prerequisite Details
✅ Setting enabled Enable Multi-Member Fast Ticket Discounts must be set to Yes. See How to configure your Pricing Options Settings?
✅ More than one ticket The discounts page appears when the customer books two or more tickets.
✅ Signed in The customer must be signed in to their account.

How it works

After choosing the fast tickets and their quantity, the customer is taken to a Membership pricing page. Each ticket appears on its own row, and a discount can be applied to each one separately.

Applying a discount to a ticket

There are two ways to say who a ticket is for.

Choosing a linked account

If the customer has linked accounts, each ticket row offers a list of them to choose from, including themselves, shown as You.

  1. On the ticket row, open the list of linked accounts.
  2. Choose the person the ticket is for.

The discount is applied straight away if the linked customer account's membership applies: the price updates, the person's name is shown on the row, and the total is recalculated.

If they don't:

Entering a Customer ID

For anyone who is not linked to the customer's account, such as a friend:

  1. Enter that person's Customer ID on the ticket row.
  2. Apply it.

This works exactly as before, and it is still available alongside the linked-account list.

Changing or removing a discount

A discount applied to a ticket can be removed, or changed to another person, before the customer continues to the basket. The price and total update each time.

In the basket

Each discounted ticket shows the name of the person it is for, so it is clear who each ticket belongs to.

Waivers

Where an activity requires a waiver, it is recorded against the person making the booking, in the same way a parent signs for a child.

Customers without linked accounts

Nothing changes. They see the Customer ID field on each ticket row, as they always have.

Troubleshooting

The customer does not see the list of linked accounts.
Three things to check. First, the customer needs at least one linked account. Second, the list only appears when booking two or more tickets. Third, the customer must be signed in.

The customer does not see the Membership pricing page at all.
Check that Enable Multi-Member Fast Ticket Discounts is set to Yes, and that more than one ticket is being booked.

A Customer ID was rejected.
Check that the ID is correct. A Customer ID is also rejected if that person has no membership that qualifies for a discount on the ticket, or if their discount is already applied to another ticket in the same booking.

Why does the timetable not show "Booking for" on fast tickets, as it does for classes?
That is expected. For fast tickets, who each ticket is for is chosen on the Membership pricing page, one ticket at a time, rather than once at the top of the timetable.

Can the customer apply the same person's discount to two tickets?
No. Each person's discount can be applied to one ticket in the booking.
