What the Users page holds, what you can do with a user, and the four ways to stop someone using Moves+.
User role: Administrator
Module: Moves+ admin > Users
The Users page
The Users page lists the members of your organisation, with their name, email, status and the date they joined. Administrator (staff) accounts are not listed. You can search by name or email, and filter the list by status. Only statuses that some users have are shown as filters, each with a count.
Select View next to a user to open their page. It has three tabs:
- Details: their record, plus the Block User and Change User Status buttons.
- Points: their current, earned, spent and removed points, and the Modify Points button.
- Activity: their daily activity and points, with an export.
Above the list are four bulk tools that work from a CSV file: Bulk Edit Status, Bulk Update Emails, Bulk Delete Users and Bulk Restore Users.
Some user tasks live on the separate Customers page today, if your organisation has it: personal details, notes, communications and data deletion requests. We are bringing these onto the user's page in the Users area.
Stopping someone using Moves+
There are four options. They differ in what happens to the member's data and whether you can undo them.
| Deactivate | Block | Bulk delete | Data deletion | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who does it | You, one user or by CSV | You, one user at a time | You, by CSV | The member, in the app. You can also request it, if this is turned on for you |
| Sign in | Cannot sign in. Cannot register again with the same email | Signed out. Cannot sign in until the block ends | Cannot sign in | Cannot sign in, permanently |
| Tracker and groups | Tracker disconnected. Removed from all groups | Tracker stays connected. Groups kept | Kept, and come back on restore | Tracker and profile picture deleted |
| Points and activity | Kept | Kept | Kept | Kept, with personal details removed |
| Users list | Shown as Deactivated | Shown as Blocked | Hidden until restored | Shown as Anonymised, named "Removed User" |
| Leaderboards | Removed from friends' leaderboards | No change | Removed | Removed, with past leaderboard history |
| Reports | History stays in reports | No change | Left out of activity, challenge, reward, badge, group and survey reports. The users report marks them as deleted | History stays in reports, not linked to a name |
| Can you undo it? | Yes. Set them back to Active. They reconnect their tracker and rejoin groups | Yes. Unblock at any time, or it ends on its own | Yes, with Bulk Restore Users | No |
Which one to use
- Someone has left your organisation: deactivate them. It is reversible and keeps their history in your reports.
- You need to pause someone while you look into something, such as unusual activity: block them for a set period.
- You are offboarding many people at once, for example at the end of a year: bulk delete them. You can restore them if you make a mistake.
- The member asks for their data to be deleted: they can do this themselves in the app. It cannot be undone. See What happens when a user's data is deleted.
There is no button to delete a single user. To remove one person, deactivate them, or use Bulk Delete Users with a CSV that holds only their row.
