What is a Machine in FLOW?
In FLOW, a "machine" refers to a virtual workstation or till assigned to a specific facility. By activating a machine session, you enable this workstation to handle front-of-house tasks, including bookings, customer transactions, and payments.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access the Facility Settings
- From the home page, navigate to the Facilities module.
2. Locate the Facility
- Use the search bar to find the relevant facility.
- Click on Edit next to the facility you wish to modify.
3. Create a New Machine
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Create New Machine.
4. Enter Machine Details
- Name: Provide a name for the machine (e.g., “Reception Till”).
- Description: Describe the machine location or purpose, such as “Reception PC1” or “Reception PC2” if you have multiple reception stations.
- Till Included: Check this box if the machine includes a till; leave it unchecked if it doesn’t.
- Override POS Quick Button Layout: Leave this as the default setting unless you need a custom layout for point-of-sale functions.

- Click Create to finalize and save the machine setup.
This setup ensures each machine is properly configured for efficient front-of-house operations, tailored to your facility’s specific needs.
