Intro to Pricing Options

What are Pricing Options?

Pricing Options are configurations used to determine the price of various items such as memberships, activity bookings, point-of-sale (POS) items, and more.

This guide provides an overview of the different types of pricing options available in Flow and their specific uses.

POS (Create a Point-Of-Sale Pricing Option)

Purpose: To set prices for items available for purchase via the Front of House (FOH) system.

  • Assignment: POS pricing options are usually assigned directly to a Quick Button, representing the product being purchased.
  • Usage: These options can also be used as "Extras" in Fast Ticket bookings, available both online and offline.

Booking (Create a Booking Pricing Option)

Purpose: To define prices for activity bookings.

  • Assignment: Booking pricing options are linked to Activity Templates (e.g., Classes, Ad Hoc activities).
  • Usage: Once assigned, they appear in the Activity Schedules, allowing members to book activities at the defined price.

Fast Ticket (Create a Fast Ticket Pricing Option)

Purpose: To set prices for individual tickets in Fast Ticket Activity Templates.

  • Assignment: These options are exclusively assigned to Fast Ticket Activity Templates within the “Activities” module.
  • Usage: They apply to any Activity Schedules derived from these templates.

Membership (Create a Membership Pricing Option)

Purpose: To establish prices for different membership types.

  • Assignment: Membership pricing options are assigned within the “Memberships” module.
  • Usage: They apply only to standard membership types.

Freeze (Create a Membership Pricing Option)

Purpose: To set a special price for memberships that are temporarily frozen.

  • Usage: For memberships that continue across billing cycles, a Freeze price (e.g., £5) overrides the regular membership price during the freeze period. Once the freeze ends, the original price is reinstated. Some organizations set the Freeze price to £0 if they prefer not to charge customers during this period.

Package (Create a Package Pricing Option)

Purpose: To price packages created within the Promotions module.

  • Assignment: These pricing options represent the package itself, not the individual items within it.
  • Usage: A Package Pricing Option can only be assigned to one package and cannot be reused for another package.

Course Pro (Create a Course Pro Pricing Option)

Purpose: To price memberships managed by the third-party system Course Pro.

  • Assignment: These options are exclusively assigned to Course Pro Memberships, which manage lessons and courses.

Penalty Pricing Options (Inbuilt).

Purpose: To charge fees for no-shows and late cancellations.

  • Types:
    • Cancellation Fee: This inbuilt option charges a fee for late cancellations. While the fee amount can be adjusted, new options cannot be created.
    • No-Show Fee: This inbuilt option applies a fee for no-shows. Like the Cancellation Fee, the amount can be changed, but new options cannot be created
